I have been working at long-established woodcut prints shop for many years at Kyoto.
In these years, I have been fascinated with woodblock prints - the feeling of paper, the design, etc.

Then, I began to think. Wouldn't it be great if these nice products were accessible to more people?
So, I decided to sell woodblock print products to people who are living within and outside of Japan.

We are professional art/old-book dealer. We have been selling hand-made woodcut prints for a long years. Please be assured about purchase. We do NOT sell with groundless prices. And we do NOT sell machinery printing replicas.

Almost all of the items in this store, including reproductions, are genuine woodblock prints. Other types of prints (e.g. stone lithographs) are specified in the product description. We always clearly state on the descriptions when woodblocks are trimmed. Please be assured that in general, woodblocks do have margins.

・Concerning our prices

Our prices are determined on the basis of the following considerations:
1. Size,
2. Quality of the printing,
3. Condition,
4. Date of print,
5. Quality of the drawing, and
6. Rarity.

Please take note that the price may differ for the same drawing. This is due to some difference(s) in the other consideration(s) raised above.

Our products may have stains and creases due to age. We do our best to upload photos where you can check the condition of the item. But in rare cases, this may not be entirely visible on the photos. Also, depending on your screen, the colors on the photo may not be the same as the original. We ask you to accept these conditions upon your purchase and should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Many of our products come with a mount, thin wrapping paper or bookcase. However, please note that the prices listed on our website are based on the value of the woodblock painting or the book itself. We therefore will not be responsible for the conditions of the accessories. If you would like to know whether the product comes with any accessories or their conditions, please send us an inquiry before purchasing.

How to read our descriptions:

"original": All prints produced in the Edo or Meiji period. These include not only Shozuri (literally, first printing) but also Atozuri (literally, later printing).

"reprint": Prints that are reprinted using the original hangi (wood block).

"reproduction": Prints reproduced with newly created hangi made by artisans based on the original ukiyoe.
